Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue their phenomenal 2007 run for the Stanley Cup

Our mailman pulled up to the mailbox yesterday afternoon with a big smile on his face, "That win against the Flyers was better than seeing the Patriots lose the Super Bowl," Pat says.

I had to think for a second, because seeing the "perfect Patriots" lose their bid for 19-0 was rather sweet. But Pat was right, the final 6-0 skunking of the Flyers was a very sweet victory, especially after the Flyers accused the Pens of throwing their final regular season game to avoid facing the Flyers in the first round of the playoffs. It all seems so laughable now, as the Pens nearly swept the series, winning 4 games to 1.

Now it's on to the final series with the Detroit Redwings for the Stanley Cup. The first two games will be played in Detroit. These two teams don't have much history, at least not playing one another. Some fans say the two hockey teams are mirror images of each other, so we're looking forward to a great Stanley Cup final series, which may just go to seven games.

Let's Go Pens!
