Sure the 11–10 score was
historic, but actually more of an historic blunder by NFL officials.
Again! It seems like this kind of history keeps repeating itself these days. I’m talking about the November 16, 2008 Steelers
turkey bowl win over the visiting Chargers.
Other momentous numbers in that game were the lopsided penalties,
with the Steelers flagged for thirteen penalties versus the
Charger’s two. Sounds like the refs got that part of the game wrong
too. Fortunately, this convergence of yellow flags and historic
blunders didn’t cost the Steelers their win and the AFC North
division lead over the Ravens.

The NFL's Biggest Losers were those gamblers who took
the Steelers minus the 5 to 6 point spread. Some reports have those
bettors losing an estimated $30 million on the blown call at
the end of the game, which would have covered their bets with a
17–10 or 18–10 final score, depending on the P.A.T. kick by stalwart
Jeff Reed.
Maybe the NFL’s grand poopahs could start slapping
Refs with some of those same mid-week fines they have made famous
with NFL players. Of course a fine for this historic blunder should
be way more than their standard $15,000.00 slap on the wrist!
